Chess

4 camps are offered throughout the summer. See the schedule.

Each camp is one week long, Monday to Friday.

12:30 to 3:00 pm.

Beginner/ Intermediate

Learn tactics, strategies, and winning moves with this fun chess camp!

Hands on chess play, with computer based training accelerates learning.

Includes a NWSRS rated tournament. Recommended for novices and club level players in grades K-8.

Gets Kids ready for advance camp.

Advanced

Get more advanced strategies, and opening theory, for those looking for an edge in tournament play.  

Includes a rated tournament.

Recommended for experienced K-12 players above Northwest rating around or above 800.

Robotics

The week of July 6.

One week long, Monday to Friday.

12:30 to 3:00 pm.

Introduce your kids to Science and Engineering careers in a fun way!

This camp is designed to teach kids how to build mechanically sound robots using Lego kits, and then make the robots smart using programming skills.

Builds skills necessary to compete in LEGO® Robotics tournaments.

For kids entering grades 4-8 or with instructor approval. No exceptions.

Computer Programming

5 Week long camp.

Monday to Friday.

12:30 to 3:00 pm.

Learn the fundamentals of computer programming including data handling, logic, and interface design.

Build simple games from scratch. If time permits, we will cover web programming. For high school and advanced middle school students.

Students must bring their own laptops for classwork and homework.

Best suited for students in grades 7 to 12.

Intro to Electronics

1 Week long.

Monday to Friday.

12:30 to 3:00.

Learn the fundamentals of electronics with Arduino microcontroller.

How do the switches, sensors, lights, and motors interact with a computer? Learn by building one yourself and program it to do whatever you want it to do.

Students are required to purchase the microcontroller kit for the class. Must bring a laptop computer to the class as well. Some programming experience is required.

Best suited for students in grades 7 to 12.

K-5 Summer Math and Reading

June 22 to August 21.

3:30 to 5:30 pm.

Mon/Wed and Tue/Thr tracks available. The students can attend both tracks.

Payment should be made for the entire weeks the student is planning on attending (no week to week payments).

Minimum of 4 weeks of commitment required.

 
Math program for middle school and high school students

June 22 to August 21.

6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Mon/Wed or Tue/Thr track.

Students will be placed on the track based on the test result.

Minimum of 6 weeks of commitment required.

Grade level 6 to 12. Student must be at least going into the 6th grade.

$350 for 7 week

 
Science Friday

June 22 to August 21.

Fridays only Science Experiment program.

 

Two hour sessions on Fridays focusing on fun science experiments.  

Students get exposure to the theory behind the experiments as well as hands-on experience. Topics include areas in physics, chemistry and biology.

Open to kids entering grades 1 through 6.

$45 per track per week. Minimum of 4 week commitment and payment required.

$25 per week. Minimum of 4 week commitment and payment required.

High School Math for Grade 7 - 12

2 Tracks - Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday (6:30 to 8:00 pm)

Students will be assigned to the track based on their skill levels.

$350 for the 7 week program.
